Stuck in The Hague

Tonight I will be in The Hague until 3am because I missed my train. Fortunately 3am is 2am due to DST.

Had a pleasant night out with Leonie and Niki. Pictures will be up soon (pimp my t-shirt style). 116 boobies guaranteed!

Dutch war on terror

So far, I'm not disappointed in my government's efforts to fight a war on terrorism.

Dutch police were locked in a standoff with an unknown number of terrorism suspects (the "Hofstad group") holed up in a house in The Hague Wednesday after three officers were wounded by a hand grenade during a raid on the home, authorities said.

Authorities closed the air space over the city to small planes during the operation.

The neighborhood has been sealed and I've read news reports that "hundreds of policemen" are surrounding the building. I've heard rumors that there might be plans to get tanks involved. Good stuff.

Update: rumors of tanks and helicopters appear to be false.
